Vienna, 7th December 2020 – After the recently completed spin-off of its elevator division, GG Group (Gebauer & Griller) is now taking the next and final step to sharpen its strategic orientation: The transfer of its production site Metallwerk in Linz, Austria, to the new owner Konstant Group of Companies was officially agreed recently.
The production site, which annually processes 11,000 metric tons of non-ferrous metals into top-quality winding wires made of aluminum and copper as well as wires and rods made of nickel-based alloys, primarily serves the electrical industry (wind power), the cable and welding industry with its product range. The remaining strategic main core of GG Group will in future concentrate its resources mainly in the growth areas of the automotive industry e-mobility, autonomous driving and digitalization, which enables a strong commitment to invest in innovation.
The strategic consolidation phase at GG Group, which began more than a year ago, has now been completed with the transfer of Metallwerk to Konstant Group of Companies, a process that has been beneficial for all parties involved. The transaction has been arranged with special attention to long-term and sustainable development opportunities for the respective part of the company as well as the involvement of employee representatives to ensure all existing employee rights and represents a clear win-win situation for all parties involved.
