The Austrian cable manufacturer opened their newest plant in Shenyang, one of the country's economic centers with excellent transport connections. The city is located in the northeast of the People's Republic and is part of the Liaoning province.

Construction of the new facility began in June 2015. Test operation has been running since last October and serial operation since May of this year. After successful audits, the official start will now follow. Gebauer & Griller's Managing Directors Nicholaus Griller and Axel Blasko as well as Chairs of the Supervisory Board Gerhard Griller and Friederike Jacquelin joined numerous representatives from the country's political and economic spheres at the opening ceremony on August 31, 2017.

Dr. Friedrich Stift, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria in China and Foreign Trade Delegate Dr. Martin Glatz were guests of honor at the event. Both stressed the excellent strategic decision of Gebauer & Griller's investment in the People's Republic of China and the growing importance of the trade relationship between the two countries.

In the future, approximately 150 employees will manufacture battery cable harnesses, supply lines, and electrical systems on 3,000 m². With this product range, GG Cables and Wires (Shenyang) Co., Ltd. will supply prominent, high-end European auto manufacturers in China.

“Gebauer & Griller has grown rapidly in recent years and serves a growing number of internationally successful companies. Our network of production plants is steadily expanding—both in Europe and worldwide,” explains Managing Director Nikolaus Griller. As such, both the production area in Shenyang and the number of employees are set to double by 2021.

Focus on sustainability

“Due to the order situation, we expect a fivefold revenue increase at the Shenyang site for the year 2018 as compared to the current fiscal year,” adds Managing Director Axel Blasko. “In the future, we would like to make increased use of our knowledge in the e-mobility field,” explains Blasko. In addition to the latest technologies—also developed and patented in-house—and state-of-the-art management, Gebauer & Griller will increase their focus on sustainability in the future.
